My tender circadian rhythm
does not like to Spring forward
or Fall back.
It feels confused and lost
in the fog.
My usual disturbed and restless
sleep now has an assistant of
early a.m. risings; 4,5,6
oh, forget it, I’ll just get up!
I know it’s just for a few days
and mine is not the only complaint.
But it’s 6 a.m. and I’m wide awake
feeling that irritability song rising
to a crescendo.
I’ll stumble as I wait for my
tender circadian rhythm to remember
that it’s all okay
and part of this is
waiting for the warmth of May.

Saying goodbye to New York? Good for You!!! Yes, Im invisibly coming to Florida with you, and every time you watch that sunset Im the one next to you giddy, with awe-struck tears when the flash happens just as the sun sets in the water.

Smiling. Trip was wonderful. Missing the beaches and sun so much. That is why I decided to move to Florida. No more cold for me. You can come invisibly with me. LOL

It is a great way for sure! Im soooo sick of winter (ugh, I feel like I am going craaazzzy!) but at least the sun has been shining the last few days and I can see things melting a bit. I hope your trip was fabulous. I hope you had fun in the sun, and fabulous nights. Remember Im traveling to all these beaches (invisibly) with you. 😃

That is a good attitude. We got about 4 inches of new snow last night. It is bright today and the huge icicles are melting. Im sooo ready for Spring!!

I wish they’d just leave it alone. This one, where we Spring forward doesn’t bother me at all, but the Fall Back one takes forever to get used to. I like the thoughts in your poem. 🙂

Same here. However the problem was the job not the time changes. I’ve been working over 40 years and the Museum job was only ten years. Everything changed for the better after leaving the Museum.
Over forty years I’ve worked in Publishing, for a bank, a major New York Nonprofit, etc…
A time change that we all know is going to happen twice every Year is a minor issue.

Im glad it doesn’t mess with you any longer. I will appreciate the sun setting after 7 today thats for sure! We need daylight here so badly.

When I was working full time the time changes were annoying especially spring forward. But after retirement and even with working part time it doesn’t bother me.
Actually it’s normal for me to wake up early usually around 4 or 5 am. Combination of my Army training and having cats. More so having served in the military. I’m never late.
I use my early Rising to pray and read Bible scriptures.

It would be so nice if we could just remain on daylight savings time all year round; it would be much better on everyone’s mental health.

Same here. Only I’m too groggy to say it so poetically. 😴
