Whispers in the night
bring memory into full focus.
It is as if your life is a series of
never-ending still photographs posed and etched
onto and into your mind.
Perhaps fading a bit in color, smell
taste and touch
but never actually melting away.
Dedicated to the ones who face their truth. Imani, at https://twentyonegramblog.wordpress.com/ this one is for you!

Thank You! Nightmares also plague me every night. If it is the same one, for me, that usually means I need to process something. Take good care! 💜

Reblogged this on 21gram.soul.blog and commented:
Put simply, having this lady in my life is a precious gift. Alexis, the author of the fantastic book, untangled, is one of only a handful of SRA survivors that I have personally come across. She is special. She understands me, inside out. I understand her too. We are cut from the same cloth. We know what SRA is like, and neither of us are going to shut up talking about it either. We live by the same values. She inspires me, as she is already published, and has written several books which you can find on Kindle. As Alexis says, the photographs in our mind fade, but never actually melt away. Buy her book, she is just SPECIAL xxxxx xxxxx 💝

Yes, it will always be with you. And here’s the thing: it’s not about what happened–it’s about the narrative we create.
